Whenever I talk to people about making money with a blog they have a puzzled look on their face. Most people do not really understand blogging and they certainly do not understand how you could make money doing it.

I do think this is a valid question though because not all bloggers really make money.

So how do the people to earn money from their blog really do it?

1. The largest income stream most bloggers realize is from selling advertising to other business owners.

High-traffic blogs can earn five figure incomes just in advertising on monthly basis. This will continue to become a great income stream as corporate sponsors look for additional ways to reach their target audience.

2.  For smaller bloggers who do not have the high-traffic numbers to justify selling advertising Google Adsense is a good alternative.

This way you get paid every time somebody clicks on one of the ads provided to you from Google. You have probably seen Google Ads on people’s blogs and now you know how they make money from it.

3. Selling affiliate products by placing banners on a blog is another popular way to make money. You can also include text link ads directly in the body of the article posts and make money when people click on those and purchase an affiliate product.

These are 3 ways that bloggers do make money today. Selling products of some kind is easier to do when you can join affiliate programs. Selling advertising is a great way to make money when you have the traffic numbers to justify the advertising sales.
